Portrait, landscape, or still life, what characterizes Laura's art is an underlying appreciation for beauty and play of light. The definition of beauty comes in many shapes and forms and is forever changing. One day it may be a refined rendering and the next, a playful sketch. Responding to this variation is what keeps art fresh for Laura. Through a search that is both visual and emotional, this work is about approaching each subject with a versatility that rings true.

Born in Boston(1970), Laura grew up in Hamilton, MA. After completing her BFA degree at the University of New Hampshire, she attended The Paul Ingbretson Studio of Painting and Drawing(1998-2002). She then studied for a year in Florence, Italy at the Charles Cecil Studios. Laura has also painted in various locations including Chadd’s Ford, PA, VA, Paris, Boston’s Fenway Studios, and the coast of New England. Laura and her husband Matt have recently moved to Dutchess County, NY where her new studio is located.

As the 2004 winner of the Portrait Society of America's Draper Grand Prize and The People's Choice Award, Laura has been recognized on both the national and international level. Laura has also been featured in such magazines as International Artist and American Artist and is a member of The Portrait Society of America as well as The Newburyport Art Association. Her paintings are amongst many fine art collections both domestically and internationally including The New Britain Museum of American Art, in New Britain, CT.

Laura and her husband Matt have recently moved to the Dutchess Day School in Millbrook, NY where her studio is now located.
